6 Products You Need to Stay Safe in the Sun This Summer
I’m gonna get right to it — skin cancer is real, sun damage is common, and finding quality products that combat such harmful rays can be difficult. I’ve gone ahead and outlined my favorites below so you can stay healthy while still having fun in the sun!
Supergoop Poof 100% Mineral Part and Scalp Powder SPF 45 — Raise your hand if you’re relatively pretty good about applying sunscreen to your skin, but ALWAYS have a burnt scalp! That has been me time and time again until….. (drum roll please….) Supergoop made this magical powder! I apply it all over the roots of my hair right before I head out into the sun and it prevents a fiery red scalp.
Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist Broad Spectrum SPF 50 - hands down this is my favorite sun protectant product!!! Not only does it wake my face up and give a serious refresh it’s a CLEAN antioxidant rich spray that protects me from the harsh UV rays. It’s meant for a makeup setting spray, but I use it all day long with a makeup-less face :)
Sun Bum Original Sunscreen Spray SPF 50 — I personally love all products made by Supergood, BUT for those who want a tropical fragrance Sun Bum’s sunscreen is for you! I’d choose sunscreen spray over lotion any day, but they make it all!
Coola Mineral Liplux Organic Tinted Lip Balm Sunscreen SPF 30 — your lips should always be hydrated! Coola makes the perfect lip balm to ensure hydration AND a beautiful color. I use the shade “firecracker” to give my face a pop! I refuse to wear make up when it’s 80+ degrees out so a good, bright lip color is perfect.
Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pad — if you’re as fair skinned as I am and you really want that glow without turning into a lobster and risking serious skin damage these facial wipes are for you! 20 towelettes to a box these will last you a good amount of time.
A Good Floppy Hat — A perfect way to keep the heat from the sun off your neck, forehead, and of course scalp. And it’s a nice way to spruce up an outfit, too! Nordstrom has so many options. The one I use the most was by Something Navy, but has since sold out :/ The ones I linked here and here are great options that are super similar and even more affordable!
