Recap of My Austin Stay with The LINE

Recap of My Austin Stay with The LINE

Austin, Texas has totally transformed in the past 10 years. But even with all its progress, I can remember when I first went, I thought it was such a special place. The air felt different, the people were so patient + kind, and the options of things to do were endless. And the food. Yummmm!

Safe to say, I’ve been to Austin a BUNCH and when I plan my trips I’m always researching the coolest, nicest hotels. I stayed with some random chain one year because, of course, the time I booked happened to be a HUGE football game so every hotel was sold out. But when staying at said chain, I ventured over to the LINE for coffee at Alfred. (Please note, their coffee, especially their chagachinos thanks to Renude are THE BEST.) Anyway, I’m standing in line at Alfred drooling over everyone’s perfectly made lattes as they walk past me and I realize in that moment, “holy shit I’m standing in the most beautiful hotel lobby right now.” I’m taking photos of everything mind you, even the randos sitting in the lobby posted up doing work on their laptops. As if I’ll never be back! I get my coffee, head to the front desk, tell them how I’m gawking over the interior, and proceed to ask, “is there a biz card for someone in partnerships? It’d be a dream to collaborate with this LINE location one day.” The smiling team hands me a card and I’m on my way. Walking around that sunny morning dreaming of a partnership with them in the future.

Fast forward two years, it’s time to visit Austin again. I’m looking into all sorts of hotels, but the LINE was always on my mind. I dig into my old wallet, find that biz card, send an email, and POOF. I manifested this!!! They said yes!! I invited my BFF Elle, we packed our bags, and got ready to stay at one of the swankiest, chicest, most centrally located hotels in all of Austin: the LINE. I loved our stay this past September so much. Why? 3 main reasons.

#1 Design

The interior of this hotel (as I briefly described above) along with the exterior is just jaw dropping. It’s so beautiful & intentional in every way. From the grand windows, to the curved arches, to the lobby which is wildly unique - you feel like you’re transported to a resort opposed to just an ordinary hotel. The pool is a must, it’s absolutely gorgeous, along with the views from P6. Pro tip: order their espresso martini. It was fabulous! And when it comes to the rooms, I loved how simple, yet dreamy the design was. And the bed was soo comfy.

#2 Service

Every single staff member we came across was oozing with the kindest hospitality. It had me thinking at times, “is it even possible to be THIS nice?!” When I would come back from a day of meetings, my laptop almost falling out of my bag, and I’m scrambling for my room key so I can immediately run into the room to pee, the valet and/or bellman at the hotel would practically dash to open the doors for me. Another time during the same stay, I had a package shipped to the hotel (from a local ATX brand!) and when I asked the front desk, not only did they know exactly what I was talking about, they located it so quickly and insisted someone bring it up to the room (it was pretty large).

 #3 Location

My  meetings on the weekdays were at the University, my free time I spent walking South Congress with Elle and at night we ventured to Rainy and 5th/6th st. The LINE was PERFECTLY located!! You step out of the hotel and immediately have access to walk down SoCo or walk up to the Capitol building. And for when I needed to get to UT, it was a 10-12 min Uber, max. Also only 20 min to the airport! I hate staying at a hotel that is right off a highway because it makes it nearly impossible to walk if I want. With the LINE, you can easily walk all over town (or scooter if you’re coordinated lol).

I hope on your next trip to ATX you seriously consider the LINE. The vibes are fun, easy-going, grounded, stylish, and creative. I already can’t wait to go again! And make sure you grab a coffee at Alfred in the lobby!
